This interactive session will explore and examine several stormwater ponds in various conditions to highlight assessment and maintenance of these important landscape features.  In both field and classroom settings, participants willunderstand the basic function of both wet and dry stormwater ponds, and the maintenance requirements of each. We will also discuss how pond structures fit into the landscape as a complement to an overall effort to lessen the effects of polluted runoff. The session will begin at St Phillip’s Episcopal Church (730 Bestgate Rd, Annapolis, MD 21401), and via carpool, visit at least one other local pond site. Directions will be provided at the class. The session will finish with a classrooom presentation and discussion at St. Phillip’s. This session will be offered rain or shine, and participants should dress for outdoor walking on uneven ground.
