Stories From The Smithsonian's "Wetland of the Future"

  • Watershed Stewards Academy 975 Indian Landing Rd Millersville, MD, 21108 United States (map)

Fast-forward to the year 2100, with a sneak peek at the Smithsonian's futuristic climate experiments! In SERC's Sept. 21 evening webinar, ecologists James Holmquist and Genevieve Noyce will reveal the latest findings from SERC's Global Change Research Wetland. Here, scientists are running experiments that raise temperature, carbon dioxide and other key climate change variables to answer one question: Will wetlands still be able to protect us in the next century? James and Genevieve will also explore how scientists are using big data to calculate what coastal wetlands around the world mean for Earth's carbon budget and efforts to mitigate climate change.

This webinar will be recorded! By signing up on Zoom, you'll be able to join live and receive a link to the recording in your inbox as soon as it's ready. Live closed captions will also be available.
