CCC Free Speaker Night: "How to Recognize Old-Growth Forests & How to Keep Them Standing"

Save the date! Cape Conservation Corps (CCC) is very excited to host Dr. Joan Maloof, Professor Emeritus at Salisbury University, as our Fall speaker! The evening will also include a silent auction with the theme “Nature Art”.  The whole event will be held at the Cape Clubhouse (1223 River Bay Rd) on Friday, November 7th.

Dr. Joan Maloof will give a presentation on “How to recognize old-growth forests and how to keep them standing.”

Dr. Maloof will discuss the special attributes of ancient forests, and the unique biodiversity they contain. She will discuss the work of the Old-Growth Forest Network, a nonprofit organization she founded, and share pointers for preserving ancient forests. She is the author of numerous books about trees and forests, and is happy to sign any brought by attendees. Doors open at 6:00 PM for light refreshments, BYOB, and the silent auction. The auction will run from 6:00 – 8:15 PM.  Dr. Maloof will begin her presentation at 7:00 PM, and there will be time for questions at the end.
