Lower Magothy Beach Morning of Maintenance

  • Lower Magothy Beach Neighborhood South Drive Severna Park, MD 21146 United States (map)

Join Kim Stringer (Class 13 Steward), Jim Crafton (Class 11 Steward), and Lise Crafton (Master Gardner & Master Naturalist) for a morning of maintenance from at the community beach in the Lower Magothy Beach neighborhood.

If you’re looking for volunteer hours, or just enjoy pulling weeds, please join them and their neighbors as they remove invasive plant species and clean up the area.

It’s a sweet spot where a lot of late season natives are blooming, a great food source for pollinators and migrating butterflies! Many of the native shrubs and perennials that were planted there as part of two Capstone Projects are now surrounded by invasive plants are are barely distinguishable. Together, let’s remedy that!

Location:
The beach is located between 363 & 365 South Drive and parking will be along South Drive.

What to Bring:
Gloves, garden tools, and determination!

Donuts will be provided!

RSVP by emailing Jim Crafton at craftons88@gmail.com (this will also help ensure the right amount of donuts!)
