Train to become a Tree Trooper and coordinate a tree planting in your community! Starting in April, a virtual training led by the Alliance for the Chesapeake Bay and WSA Restoration Staff will teach you everything you need to know to plan, plant, and maintain an arborous addition in your community.

We’re always searching for new project sites in neighborhoods, congregations, and HOAs to plant trees. If your community meets the below criteria, it may be the perfect fit! Connect with Rob Pavlik, Restoration Coordinator, to learn more.
We’re looking for communities:
With available planting area for at least 20 trees. Trees may be spread across multiple properties in one community, ie yards in your neighborhood. Check out our Resilient Tree Species List for tree types.
Able to provide maintenance and care to the newly planted trees (about 2 hours/week for watering)
Located in either the city of Annapolis or in Anne Arundel County, preferably the South, West or North parts of the county,
Committed to the maintenance and monitoring tree plantings as outlined in WSA’s Property Owner Agreement
To provide copays of $20-$40 per tree ($20 for volunteer planted trees, $30 for contractor assistance with digging holes, $40 for contractor planted trees)
