Steward Action Form FAQ

WHAT DOES THIS FORM COLLECT?

  • All other volunteer work performed on behalf of WSA should be entered here.  This is where you can report

    • Maintenance Work

    • Monitoring Work

    • Your support of another Steward’s rainscaping project

    • Outreach: events, written communications, lectures, presentations, discussions

    • Educational Programs for school-age children with an Environmental Literacy focus

    • Environmental Committee Work: use this field to report volunteer work on behalf of a committee. You can also use it to report attendance at meetings that aren’t directly connected to the planning of an event or program.

    • Continuing Education: your attendance at WSA’s annual conference, and other classes that further your knowledge about stormwater and environmental concerns

WHO SHOULD FILL OUT THIS FORM?

  • Everyone! WSA is a big family and we would love to have all our volunteers report their action!  This form will ask you to select one of the following “Affiliations”:

    • Master Watershed Steward

    • Steward Candidate

    • Congregational Steward

    • Community Steward

    • Volunteer

WHat should I know before I begin to fill OUT THe steward action FORM?

  • The new version of our Steward Action form requires you to specify

    • the name of the watershed where your action took place; if you don’t know the answer, select “unknown.”

    • the audience you were trying to engage through your action.

    • whether or not your event had photos—and if you have a copy of the media release.

    • the total number of hours you spent volunteering, which includes time spent planning.

    • the total number of people engaged.

  • The new form also gives you the option to enter a date range for your action, rather than a single date. This allows individuals to submit a single entry for

    • regular maintenance work at a specific site which has occurred over a period of time.

    • outreach and educational programming for a specific group or community which has occurred over a period of time.

    • ongoing committee work.
