Stormwater Success Field Tour

Attendees to this tour must complete Stormwater Success 101 prior to class.
The Stormwater Success Field Tour is an interactive tour of Best Management Practices from bio-swales to dry ponds in a community in Severn Maryland.
This tour will be conducted by stormwater professionals and county inspectors to give insights. There will be ample opportunity to ask questions and discuss topics introduced in Stormwater Success 101. This course deepens knowledge built in Stormwater Success 101 and 201. Attendees to this course must complete Stormwater Success 101 prior to class. Completion of Stormwater Success 201 is optional.
Please note that this tour includes walking and standing for long periods of time. If you need accommodations, please indicate that in your registration.

Tour Location & Schedule
2023 Location: This will be a self-driven tour with stops to look at projects in 1-2 communities in Severn, MD.
2023 Schedule: November 18, 2023 from 9:00 AM- 12:00 noon
Field Tour Agenda
8:30 am – 9:00 am: Arrival, Check in and Survey:
Please arrive before 9:00 am so that we can begin promptly at 9:00 am.
9:00 am: Stop 1: Millstone Village (8202 Carinoso Way, Severn, MD 21144, park along Carinoso Way and be mindful of private/no parking signs)
Objective: following water through a community with Environmental Site Design (ESD)
Time on site: 90 minutes
10:30 am: Depart to Jacob’s Forest Community
10:45 am: Stop 2: Jacob’s Forest (park along Falcon Point Dr., just past 8401 Wood Thrush Way, Severn, MD 21144)
Objective: additional examples of community managed stormwater management.
Time on site: 60 minutes
11:30 am: Wrap up and Questions
12:00 pm: Depart
