Meet our 2024 Community Partner: Providence of Maryland

Support a neighbor in need with your generous donation. Through the Groves of Gratitude fundraising initiative, 50% of all donations will benefit The Providence of Maryland, a non-profit dedicated to empowering individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Providence helps over 300 men and women discover and live their best lives through meaningful connections, opportunities, and experiences in every facet of life—employment, community engagement, advocacy, and home life. We believe that community belongs to all of us, and together, we’re building a brighter, more inclusive future for everyone.

“We are proud to have developed a relationship with the Anne Arundel Watershed Stewards Academy through our greenhouses which specialize in native plants. I am so excited to see our partnership grow, and we are grateful to be a beneficiary of the WSA’s Groves of Gratitude Program,” - Karen Adams-Gilchrist, President and CEO, Providence of Maryland

Ordering Details:

If you have lots of space, we recommend purchasing 2+ groves. If you are limited in space, we recommend up to 4 single trees. A combination of grove and single trees is also permitted.

A donation of $50 per grove and $20 per single tree is suggested. Some communities may be eligible to receive Groves of Gratitude trees at a special discounted rate. Please reach out to replant@aawsa.org to inquire.

Tree Bundle Benefits:

  • Screening Groves consist of five trees to provide screening from roads, neighbors, and wind. Screening trees are large, evergreen trees that provide a natural-looking screen. Learn more.

  • Oak Groves consist of four large oak trees, providing the following benefits: a decrease in heating/cooling bills, an increase in property value, and tremendous wildlife value. Learn more.

  • Edible Groves consist of five small to medium, understory trees planted in a staggered grouping to create a native-sourced food grove. Learn more.

  • Pollinator Groves consist of five understory trees/shrubs planted to provide food sources for pollinators such as bees, birds, flies, moths, and beetles. Learn more.
